Jerome, Axbal and I were the tender age of 15 on the camping trip.
That's not Axbal's hair, it's a fur helmet.
The funny stories on the camping trip:
Just as we finished the hike to our remote camping spot, Ax sliced his hand on a frying pan of all things and went into shock. We were all too stupid to realize it could have been quite serious.
All of our fishing gear was confiscated by the park authorities. We hadn't realized that the park was a nature preserve that included all the wildlife.
The best one was that wild horses had stampeded through the campsite, ripped open the food tent and ate everything we had to survive on. Jerome and Axbal lost the Ro Sham Bo and had to hitch to the nearest town to reprovision the expedition. They returned terrified that the truck drivers they hitched with would raid the camp that night and kill us all. So, we watched every truck on the distant road across the valley all night long to see if it was going to stop. We watched too many horror films I think. The funny part of this one was that after the trek back to civilization, they had spent all our money on a dozen cans of condensed milk! Why they did this is still a mystery to this day.
I told you everyone remembers Toby. Toby is that Toby. He left Edron in 1979. He finished college by 19 years old. He's a bit of a brain, as he will be the first to tell you. Returned in 1982 to live with Ed in San Angel. He stays in touch with Ed. Now lives in Chi-town like Stephane L.
Cheers
