Cusco, then. I expected it to be lower than Machu Picchu but it isn't, it's actually some 1,000 metres higher. Cool place if you're into the aesthetics of interculturality and - er - coca leaves.
It's also tidy and *very* high up. If you're sensitive to altitudes you might find it challenging to feed yourself and retain any blood in your brain during the following hour.
On the last day we took a revealing tour of the interior of the Cathedral. Purty, innit.
The train to Machu Picchu travels 3.5 hours through the Sacred Valley of the Incas and descends into Aguas Calientes, the nearest stop to Machu Picchu.
Then you get a bus that zigzags you up.
On Machu Picchu looking up at Huayna Picchu. Well... and down at Aguas Calientes as well. And a wild bunny! And...
