Saludos from the Big Apple

Hola Edronitas,

It has been a long time. Thanks to the nun in valle for introducing me to this forum - reads like you have been having a merry time.

Quick recap on what I have been up to since I left the Campestre house in 1984:

Went to England for a couple of years of boarding school and then returned to Mexico City. Was able to catch the first (and seems to be last) Ex-Edron reunion in the new school location (some time between 1989-1992). In 1993 I left Mexico and went to work in the US for a year. Then got transferred to Hong Kong and spent an amazing year in Asia. From there I went to Boston for an MBA and then to London after I graduated in 1997.

I lived in London for eight years and loved the place. I got married and had my first two sons there (Nicholas and Alexander - seen below with Teresa, my wife) . This picture was taken on New Year's eve 2006 in el bello puerto de Acapulco.

We moved to New York in early 2005 and have been living here since. We managed to have another son, Oliver, in 2006 and are currently expecting our fourth in September of this year (Oliver is the one in the picture above).

From what I read in the blogs it seems like i get the pro-creation award (or is it the what did you not learn about birth control award?). Anyway, after two of our four being "surprises" we may have to re-think this whole approach.

Life in New York is fun and we are loving it. We manage to get to Mexico very often and enjoy every trip. I get to see Sandrine (the nun makes many appearances in these blogs) and Fer Arrioja (very seldomly). Otherwise I have not seen any other edronitas in a very long time.

My niece and nephew (Sabrina and Emilio) are currently in Edron. They are the ones in the front row below. Their mother (my sister Jenefer) was also at the Edron and made it to the new location - I assume no one on this blog ever went to the new school (I cannot remember when they moved).

Brief word on the rugby. Never played much on the Edron team (left in 1984) but did play with el Secre (in Miquitzli) and with Camilo Falcon and Guillaume Martin (in Tazmania) when I returned to Mexico. Saw all these guys mentioned in the rugby posting. Glad to report we still managed to kick the Liceo's arse many times whilst I was at Taz - even though they had the services of the great Jerome Lacor at that point. I had never expected to be on the opposite side of a rugby field to a Lacor.

I am currently launching a new start-up focused on video communication. It is a great tool for all of us to see each other instead of rant at our desktops or laptops. Download the application at www.oovoo.com (it is free) and invite the Edronitas that are on this site. You can talk to up to 6 at the same time. It may help settle if Diego Z ever was captain or not.....

Some of the photos are amazing. The old ones are unbelievable and the recent ones (Charco event) bring back some wacky memories. Mark (Omar) - I remember driving back from your Teques house in the middle of the night in the back of your dad's car. We then went to the final of the under-18 world cup in which some clever guy decided to shoot fireworks whilst having a helium ballon display for the cup ceremony. We were in the front row and nearly got our faces singed by the explosion. We all ran for the exits.

Hope to see you in Mexico soon. If you are coming through NY let me know.
Paul
